Hospice Care

When you have a serious illness or condition, there are several kinds of care that you may receive. The first is “general treatment”, where the goal is to cure the illness or condition and return you to your normal life. The second is “palliative care". This may be provided in conjunction with general treatment. Its goal is to improve your quality of life while you are receiving treatment. The third is “hospice care”, where you will continue to receive palliative care, but there is no longer a goal of curing your illness or condition. The goal is to improve your quality of life during the limited time you have left. In today’s video we look at hospice care, talk about some key issues that may come up in your estate planning process, and dispel some key myths about hospice care.
