How Much Money Should I Have Before I Make A Will?

It's a trick question really – how much money do you need to have to make a will. The real question is what are you trying to do. In today's video we discuss some of the reasons you may have for planning your estate, as well as some reasons you may not need to. Some of the questions you should be asking are:

  • Who do I want to have my stuff when I die?

  • Do I want to designate someone specific as a personal representative?

  • What do I want to happen to my children if I die unexpectedly?

  • Are some of my heirs incapable of handling a large inheritance?

  • Is this a second marriage, and do I need to protect the inheritance of one of my children?

This is but a beginning to some of the questions to be asking. And it doesn't touch on issues like needing a health care directive or durable power of attorney. If you have questions about what strategy is right for you, please contact Signature Law for a free consultation.
